Mr and Mrs Marsh was looking to give their bathroom a refresh, and in doing so, they wanted to use our Roma Beige Plain Wall Panels. They were aiming for a modern look and a modern solution that was easy to keep clean, without going down the route of traditional tiles. By choosing Pro-Tek™ SPC Wall Panels, they were able to achieve a sleek, contemporary finish that offers an excellent alternative to tiles, with no grout lines and a much quicker installation process.
Project Overview
This project took place in Royal Tunbridge Wells and involved the renovation of a bathroom within a residential house. The area covered required a total of 10 panels, all selected from the Tile & Stone range in the Roma Plain Beige finish. The chosen product provided a soft beige tone that complemented the overall décor and created a bright, open feel.
The installation of the SPC Wall Panels took just one day to complete, with the remaining works being carried out separately. The panels were fitted by a professional bathroom fitter, ensuring a precise finish and demonstrating just how easy to install and efficient these panels are compared to traditional tiling methods.
Why the Wall Panels Were Chosen
Mrs Marsh selected SPC Wall Panels because she wanted a quick and easy solution rather than using tiles. Working within a short renovation time frame, she needed something that offered quicker installation and minimal disruption.
Mr Marsh opted for plain panels to help make the room appear larger, reducing visible joins and avoiding grout lines altogether. As a true alternative to tiles, these panels provided a seamless look with no grout, making them far more hygienic and significantly easier to maintain.
Cost-effectiveness was also a key factor. They wanted a low-maintenance solution that was easy to keep clean while helping to keep overall renovation costs down — something SPC panels deliver exceptionally well.
Installation Process
It was Mrs Marsh’s decision to go for a framed design, installing the panels at half the height of the bathroom walls rather than using full-length panels. This design choice added character while keeping the space feeling open and balanced.
All required internal corners were utilised to create a neat and professional finish. End bars supplied with the panels were installed along the top edge to frame the wall panels and create a clean transition between the panelled area and the painted décor above.
This contrast provided a unique yet uniform visual impact, enhancing the modern feel of the bathroom while showcasing how versatile and easy to install SPC Wall Panels can be.
Customer’s Notes
Mr Marsh stated that he thoroughly loved the finished look of the panels. He highlighted how impressed he was with the speed of the install.
The tradesman also commented that he much preferred fitting SPC Wall Panels over traditional tiles, and especially over PVC panels, which can crack or split easily during installation. The durability and rigidity of SPC panels made the process smoother and reinforced. This is exactly why we know that our SPC wall panels are becoming the leading alternative to tiles in modern bathroom renovations.
