A windowless bathroom can feel more like a cupboard than a place to unwind, and the usual fix (floor-to-ceiling tiles) can blow the budget before the work even starts. In this case study, Wall Panels in Glasgow helped Sophie Walker transform her dark main bathroom into a bright, modern space without the cost of a full retile. The project used 12 Cream Statuario Multi Tile Wall Panels and was completed by a fitter over two days.
The Problem
Sophie lives in the West End of Glasgow. Her main bathroom had no natural light, which made the room feel enclosed and dull.
She wanted to use light, marble-effect tiles to brighten the space, but the cost of tiling a fairly large room from floor to ceiling was too high. The job needed a finish that looked like quality tiling without the price tag of the real thing.
The Solution
To keep costs realistic while still bouncing light around the room, Sophie chose the Cream Statuario Multi Tile Wall Panels.
The high gloss finish helps reflect the ceiling lights back around the room, and the Multi Tile design replicates the look of classic 600mm x 300mm ceramic tiles. Because the panels use Pro-Tek’s Authentic Grout Line Technology, the grout effect is milled directly into the waterproof surface, so Sophie gets the tiled look without any of the scrubbing, discolouration or mould that comes with real grout.
The Installation
Because this was a larger bathroom, the fitter took two days to ensure all panels were correctly aligned so the tile effects flowed naturally around the room.
The full 2800mm panel height meant the walls could be covered from floor to ceiling in a single piece, with no horizontal joins to break up the tile pattern. The old tiles had to come off first, but once the walls were prepared, the panels went up cleanly with adhesive and minimal mess.
The Result
The bathroom looks significantly brighter and more open. The glossy, marble-style finish has completely changed the feel of the windowless space without breaking Sophie’s budget.

“Because we have no windows in there, it used to feel a bit like a cave. The glossy finish on these panels reflects so much light, and the tile effect looks very realistic. It’s a huge improvement.”
