Hotel guest lifts get more daily traffic than almost any other surface in the building, and keeping them looking fresh is a constant battle. In this case study, Wall Panels in London helped Arthur Vance refurbish three passenger lifts at his Central London hotel, replacing tired, worn interiors with a high-gloss marble-effect finish. The project used 27 Musk Carrara Multi Tile Wall Panels and was completed by the hotel’s shop-fitting team in just one day per lift.

The Commercial Space

Arthur Vance is the general manager of a luxury hotel in Central London. The property runs to a high standard, and the lobby and guest rooms are kept spotless. The lift interiors, however, had started to look tired and worn from years of daily use.

It was time for a full refurbishment to bring the lifts back in line with the standards of the rest of the hotel.

Finding the Right Look

Arthur needed a wall finish that looked premium and felt substantial, but did not require shutting the lifts down for weeks of messy building work. Passenger lifts have strict weight limits and constant movement, which makes heavy real marble or traditional ceramic tiling a logistical headache. Real stone can also crack or work loose over time as the lift cabin flexes with use.

After looking at the options, Arthur settled on the Musk Carrara Multi Tile Wall Panels. The rich, brown marble-effect design gives each lift a refined, statement-making finish, and the high gloss surface lifts the look of the cabin the moment guests step inside. Arthur visited the Pro-Tek Croydon showroom in person to compare finishes and place the order.

Fitting the Products

To refurbish all three lifts, the project called for 27 Musk Carrara Multi Tile Wall Panels, with exactly 9 panels per lift (3 panels on each of the three cabin walls).

When the delivery arrived at the hotel, Arthur was impressed by how authentic the marble pattern looked and how sturdy the boards felt in the hand. The hotel’s shop-fitting team carried out the installation and was surprised by how quick the job was.

Refitting a lift with conventional materials usually means days of messy adhesives, heavy cutting and long out-of-service periods that frustrate guests. With these lightweight SPC panels, the team completed each lift in just one day. The boards went up with minimal mess, keeping guest disruption to an absolute minimum.

The Final Result

Arthur is thrilled with how smoothly the whole project went from start to finish. Ordering through the website was straightforward, and the delivery driver arrived on schedule, carefully bringing the panels into the hotel’s loading bay.

The finished lifts have made a noticeable difference to the guest experience. The Musk Carrara marble feature walls give the cabins a refined, premium glow, and the housekeeping team loves that scuffs from luggage wipe away in seconds with a damp cloth.

Because the project stayed entirely on schedule, Arthur is already planning the next renovation and is currently looking at upgrading the hotel’s en suites.
